Hamas Week at Wits - "Terrorists not freedom fighters"
Well done to SAUJS for putting together a HAMAS week that will start tomorrow (Tuesday 11/08) at Wits University.
There will be daily audio and visual displays on the Library lawns from 12:00-14:15.
On Wednesday SAUJS are hosting Professor Hussein Solomon, progressive Muslim academic and director for the centre of international political studies, for a lecture that I urge everyone to attend. The lecture will be from 13:15 to 14:15 on Wednesday 12 August at the Senate House Basement.
On Friday 14th August from 13:15-14:15 SAUJS will host a lecture entitled “How Hamas differs from the ANC” that will be delivered by Advocate Madasa who is an ANC member and past chairperson of the parliamentary portfolio committee on foreign affairs, also at the Senate House Basement.
Nice.
SAUJS Wits are upping their game.
About time!

Professor's Solomon's SAJUS lecture will certainly preserve his status as The MRN's "Number 1 Bogey Man". It is admirable that he has achieved this status and, in the circumstances, he should also be awarded a medal for being "The Greatest Living Non-Black South African".

Mighty Madasa is a ANC member but he dont have an ANC mandate to speak on this topic. He was never the chair of the parliamentary portfolio committee on foreign affairs. He was on the committee. He was representing the ACDP. He is Christian zioist who crossed the floor to the ANC

He was the Chair of the Foreign Affairs Portfolio Committee International Relations Sub Comm. He started out on the ANC but then moved to the ACDP. He found he didnt like the connection between church and state and moved back to the ANC on that basis. I dont know why John seems so defensive about his credentials he certainly has experience in this area. Last I checked there are there no rules againts Zionists, both Jewish and Christian joining the ANC.
