Last week I highlighted two excellent articles from Gill Katz and Rolene Marks that were published in People magazine. Well the good run, didn’t end there. Rolene contacted me to tell me that there was in fact a third article, this time on Gilad Shalit, published in People.
It’s another great article and People magazine once again deserve credit for their willingness to go against the grain and publish articles that wouldn’t have passed the vast vetting machine that is the Palestinian lobby in South Africa.
Well done to Gill and Rolene for their tireless efforts to this end. Apparently the response to these articles has actually been pretty good. Gill told me that it’s precisely the kind of journalism she tries to practice – forcing people to open their eyes by educating truthfully, even if it’s not always what fellow Jews want to hear. If she achieves this, she says, then it’s all worth the effort.

What is the letter-based response to these articles in People magazine (I am assuming that they have a letters section).

Joe
I don't know about letter responses. I spoke with the journalist (David Steynberg) with whom I worked on these 3 articles and he said that the response had been pretty positive, and that people seem to now realise that there is another side to the story.
Each article asked for a SMS response from the readers and PEOPLE published a few of the SMS's. They were in the main - supportive and positive.
