While the 5 permanent members of the United Nation’s Security Council (UNSC) and Germany were meeting this week to discuss further sanctions against Iran for brazen violations of the UNSC demand that it halt Uranium enrichment, South Africa was reported to have been formulating a strategy to provide the Islamic Republic with diplomatic cover.
Peter Fabricius, the foreign editor for the Independent Newspaper group, reported yesterday in The Mercury that Iran’s chief nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani met with President Thabo Mbeki on Sunday. The aim of the meeting was to seek assurances that South Africa would not back the expected further sanctions against Iran. And it appears that that such assurances were in fact given by our president.
The South African Department of Foreign Affairs is denying these claims. One of their spokespeople insisted that Mbeki’s meeting with Larijani was routine and that the timing was coincidental. But Fabricius cites a senior Western diplomat who claims otherwise. I suggest that this meeting was as routine and coincidental as the department’s administrative oversights are freak in relation to matters of Jewish concern. We can only hope the international community will not be as gullible as Israel and the official South African Jewish community in accepting their spin.
The likely upcoming vote at the UNSC on further sanctions against the Islamic Republic is going to be a watershed moment for the South Africa government. They will have to choose, as George W Bush declared after 9/11, if they are either “with us “or they are with the terrorists. Sadly it looks like they have already chosen the latter.
If South Africa insists on supporting terrorist movements and regimes, then the USA, EU, Australia and Canada should tell SA that there will be no economic more aid and assitance to SA until the ANC/SACP regime changes it's attitude.
SA cannot continue to recieve money from the west, while siding with the terrorist/totalitarian camp.

Prayer Focus: Prayer Focus
South Africa is taking a strong stand on the side of evil. Pray that Israel's allies will stand boldly against this alignment. As hope dims, pray that Israel will put her hope in God.
Torah
"But You, O LORD, shall laugh at them; You shall have all the nations in derision. I will wait for You, O You his Strength; for God is my defense. My God of mercy shall come to meet me; God shall let me see my desire on my enemies" (Psalm 59:8-10).

Many ask how the Jews living in Europe and especailly Germany in the 1930's did not see the writing on the wall, or at least warning signs. The answer is that they did not see them because they did not want to, they would rationalise and explian away the indicators that they were in such danger. South African Jews today are doing the same. Perhaps the danger may not be as extreme as the holocaust (and note I say perhaps) but when you are living in a country where the government openly sides with states and organizations that have publicly stated their goal of our destruction, and still choose to stay in that country there can be only 3 possibilities. Insanity, stupidity or denial. Each and every Jew in SA that does not wish to leave needs to ask themselves to which does he belong.

I think the same applies to every rational, freedom and peace-loving person in S.A., Brett.

Hi! Please grab anti-Olmert's Purim buttons from http://samsonblinded.org/blog/purim_banners.htm
The buttons are free and could be hotlinked. Let's make some fun of Olmert!

Although I don't agree with some of Olmert's policies, he is no Haman!
There are alot of real Hamans-like Ahmadinejad, Gadaffi, Meshaal and everybody who wants Israel to disappear (including several in SA who I will not name).
And that's who we should focus as on the enemy.
