Brilliant post, Mike. You could soon be giving PJ O'Rourke a run for his money. I really loved the part about the communist newspaper. It brought back good memories of the one they used to sell at Wits (the name of which eludes me for now).

Thanks Barry.

I think the SA one is called the Worker’s Vanguard. I must confess that I have been browsing the Proletarian. It is far more balanced than its South African equivalent. The Leftist rhetorical is not as pervasive. They only use words like economic imperialism 5 times every paragraph.

It was also relatively worldly. The evils of Israel and America were not its only focus. There was a 3 page article on the communist victory in Nepal as well. I guess that’s the only positive news communism has had since the 70s.

Workers Vanguard are the lunatic fringe of the far Left - the Southern Baptists of the Communist movement, who seem to view Trotsky's writings as gospel. No one takes them seriously, and they have no base. Some people even think they are funded by the CIA to discredit the left, as it's a mystery that they still exist with so little support. Their writing is absolutely impenetrable.

And you spelled Naturei Karta wrong.

George W. Bush’s sentence-by-sentence speaking skills are deteriorating. Apparently, this may be due to a mental illness called “presenile dementia.” Bush may or may not be secretly still drinking heavily. Bush lied, and thousands of people died. Bush suffers from narcissism and megalomania. Moreover, Bush has been arrested three times. Bush was arrested for disorderly conduct. Bush was arrested for stealing. Bush was also arrested for a serious crime—driving under the influence of alcohol. There are reasons to believe that Bush suffers from a learning disability. Bush’s learning disability would explain a lot of things. All in all, Bush is a severely mentally ill individual. Bush is not fit to be the president of the United States.

Anti-war protesters are great.
