The land of the lost socks must be a beautiful place for old smelly socks to eventually retire to. Until a few years ago, no-one knew how these socks actually got to the land of the lost socks. But things may have changed. I have a sneaking suspicion that a group of radical South Africans called the Media Review Network have discovered this location and have managed to infiltrate and steel these poor socks before they get to their utopian destination.
And what do the MRN do with these smelly socks you ask? Why they smoke them of course!
How else do you explain the twisted inverted reality world they live in?
This week, the winner of the IAS Smoking Socks Award is the secretary of the Media Review Network. His letter, appearing today in the Cape Times, is entitled “Courageous Iran.”
Warning: The fumes from this letter are so pungent that you may start to choke as you realise that the writer actually buys into his own spin!
Okay now...take a deep breath and read on...
Courageous Iran Brian Levine's hysterical response to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's statement (November 1) results from a false conclusion, in that he interprets a "holocaust" when the president said "wipe out Israel". This has the same meaning as "wipe out apartheid South Africa" did in the 1980s...from Dr Firoz Osman , Secretary, Media Review Network. In 1975, the UN General Assembly declared both Zionist Israel and apartheid South Africa racist states, whose discriminatory policies were a "crime against humanity". Israel is the world's last outpost of apartheid. Iran has never invaded or occupied another country. It has been, in fact, a victim of aggression. It does not possess nuclear weapons. It is Israel that has invaded, occupied, stolen, destroyed, killed and threatened the use of its formidable arsenal of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons. It is Israel that is wiping out Palestinians. Iran is determined to follow an independent and just foreign policy and that angers the Zionist lobby. The new world order determines that any country that opposes the hegemonic designs of Israel and the United States must be attacked. It is this incredible courage displayed by Iran in the face of the diabolical undertaking of the hypocritical Zionist-American axis that generates Media Review Network's admiration. |
And this is the gang that the South African media relies on for the ubiquitous Palestinian perspective.
