The Jewish Torah is divided into 54 "portions", in Hebrew called Parshas. Each week a different parsha is read. The full Parsha is read on Shabbat (Saturday) in the synogogue.
This Shabbat, to my surprise, Gaza was mentioned in the Parsha. The Parsha read was called Devarim, which is the first Parsha in the book of Deuteronomy (Deut chapt 1-3:22).
