Last week I brought attention to the fevered hatred of Ronnie Kasrils in an article run by the British Guardian. To the Guardian's credit the article was balanced by a response from Benjamin Pogrund. The Guardian would never dream of including a response by someone as far right as Kasrils is left. Craziness is acceptable, as long as it's from the left.
The latest Mail & Guardian (the local sister magazine to the Guardian) ran the Kasrils article but neglected to include the Pogrund response. Benjamin Pogrund is a South African and is the former editor of the Rand Daily Mail - so he is well known to the South African audience. He is left of center in Israeli politics and a renowned member of the peace camp. His response hardly seems inappropriate for the M&G so why did they ignore it?
The Pogrund response from the British Guardian can be found here.
