I disagree with you about Muhammed. He fights on the side of the oppressed as many of us do. If you want to see real hatred I can direct you to many fascist right-wing sites that are breeding the stuff. In fact, I see from your links you already know a few of these people.

Would you advocate another Holocaust if it were the Palestinian people going to the ovens?

Laurence Caromba

From The Front Line:

"Suicide Bombings? We call it Martyrdom Operations, and we do so without reluctance and without apology."

Sure, that's not pro-terrorist at all...

Steve

"Would you advocate another Holocaust if it were the Palestinian people going to the ovens? "

Your question hits the height of absurdity and the fact that you even think of asking a question like that depicts the prejudice that you suffer from.

I dont think you are level headed enough to debate this type of stuff. Just think about how prejudiced and dare I say it - racist - your question is.

MK

Selective quotation is a very nice tool for propaganda is it not, Laurence? I guess context doesn't play a role in your world. So When the Contras and Nicaraguans were doing it to free themselves from repression of the US, they were terrorists. The Black Consciousness Movement in South Africa During Apartheid, when they did it, they were terrorists? I have even heard of Jews who were doing the same thing (sacrificing themselves to save their people) during the holocaust, were they terrorists?

Steve - Just 'cos many people are getting killed unjustly over longer period of time doesn't make it any less of a holocaust.

"We must use terror, assassination, intimidation, land confiscation, and the cutting of all social services to rid the Galilee of its Arab population."
-- David Ben-Gurion, May 1948, to the General Staff. From Ben-Gurion, A Biography, by Michael Ben-Zohar, Delacorte, New York 1978.

"Let us not ignore the truth among ourselves ... politically we are the aggressors and they defend themselves... The country is theirs, because they inhabit it, whereas we want to come here and settle down, and in their view we want to take away from them their country."
-- David Ben Gurion, Simha Flapan's "Zionism and the Palestinians pp 141-2 citing a 1938 speech.

I agree with the statements made by Dianne and MK. It is indeed true that the Palestinian people are sufferring a great deal of oppression. In 1948, the state of Israel was illegally created (yes, by this I mean illegal occupants of an already occupied land declared a part of it to be theirs) - governments of the world know about it despite their silence. That alone would lead any sane person to the conclusion that the Palestinians are being unfairly threatened, restricted and violated. What we see on the news about Israel and Palestine is even more convincing, despite the media's biased propoganda in favour of Israel.

Mick

Fine, but does that mean killing all the Jews in Israel as you're hinting at? If it does, count me out of it. We saw what that meant in Rwanda, Burundi and Uganda with other races.

Khatree

I was not hinting at killing all Jews in Israel. I don't believe they should be killed. The negotiating parties on both sides should acknowledge their respective wrongdoings and come to an agreement. Yes, this is what everyone says, but it's true, and it has to be done. The moment one side agrees to a cease fire, the other side decides to kill someone, and then we're back to square one. This is what's happening and it's counter-productive.
