A feel good story to end the week...
Palestinian and Israeli police cooperated Friday to rescue the kidnapped son of an Arab-Israeli woman living in Ramallah.
Following a quarrel between the woman and her partner on Thursday evening, the man grabbed her two-year-old son and escaped with him in the direction of Tulkarm in the West Bank. The man, a Palestinian from Tulkarm, was living with the woman but was not the child's biological father. The woman reported the kidnapping at the Ramallah police station, who forwarded it to Israeli police for the Samaria region. The Israeli police turned, in turn, to Tulkarm's Palestinian police force.
"The Palestinian police forces responded very quickly to our report," the spokesperson for the Israeli police said.
Palestinian police located the man in Tulkarm, and were able to take back the child, who they returned safely to his mother in Ramallah.
The man was taken in for questioning and is being held by police in Ramallah.
