The Palestine Solidarity Committe has accused Israel of "recruiting" South Africans to serve in the IDF and urged the SA government to investigate the matter. Minister of Intelligence Ronald Ka$ril$ has confirmed that South Africa may take legal action against its citizens currently serving in the Israel Defense Forces if it receives "hard and substantive information" on such people.
Strangely, South Africa have no plans to investigate those citizens that served in Iraq as Human Shields - effectively rendering them part of the Iraqi forces in combat against the Coalition of the Willing. (This is okay because, as Patrick D' O Brien says, "It is okay to help the poor brown people because the non-brown people oppressing them have better weaponry—right?")

S.Africans in IDF may face legal battle
South Africa may take legal action against its citizens currently serving in the Israel Defense Forces if it receives "hard and substantive information" on such people, the South African Ministry of Intelligence said Tuesday. The government will not pursue the matter until that information is forthcoming, the ministry told The Jerusalem Post.
The Jerusalem Post questioned SA on reports of Muslim combatant training grounds in SA.
Asked by The Jerusalem Post if she was aware of media reports of Muslim combatant training grounds in South Africa, Daniels said the reports were a matter of record, and that the ministry was "aware of the alleged practice.""I am not saying that it exists, but we are aware of the possibility. As with any other country, South Africa is not immune to terrorism. Obviously, if found to be true, it would be in contravention of South African law," Daniels said.
Your site is great!
I love the spelling and fun with Ka$ril$ !!

This is outrageous. Many South Africans have dual passports and therefore may serve in the IDF. South Africa just hates Israel and is doing everything it can to polarise Israelis and Jews.
Nice site btw. I am an ex-South African living in Canada (I left all of 14 years ago!) and rely on crappy services like news24 to see what is happening there. I visit many blogs like LGF, MediaBackspin, Tacitus etc and have now added AS to my list.
