A quick link to a very disturbing article from the ANC Youth League.
It's amazing that the article ends saying
The story of Palestine must be told in its factual form.
Facts are what the ANCYL are sorely missing out on. They briefly mention various events from the conflicts history, in a pathetic attempt to convince the ignorant that their take is factual and based on historical events. Their take on things does not help the Palestinian cause at all, if anything it causes it more harm. No serious and reasonable people with influence in the Middle East will ever take their view seriously - and that is a great pity given the powerful influence that South Africa has over the Palestinian people.
The collusion about finding Jews a "national home" was motivated by the political influence the Jews wielded within these superpowers and the wealth they had amassed. This became evident when American president Harry Truman exerted pressure on Britain to see through her commitment to establish a national home for the Jews in Palestine. This was further motivated by the oil wealth of the Middle East and America's desire to control such vast wealth. This sentiment was confirmed by the US Joint Chiefs of Staff in a memorandum to Truman.
Of greatest concern to the ANCYL is
Does the state of Israel really have a right to exist? It is a vexing question that has been responsible for the soaring of temperatures on both sides of the spectrum.
and finally...colonialism, racism, the brutal Sharon, and the real terrorists...
When the PLO and its affiliate organs declared the intifada, the west was quick to label them terrorists. It is not very long ago, that we were labeled terrorists by the same forces for fighting for our land. The ANC Youth League will continue to recognize the struggles of the peoples of Palestine as legitimate struggles against colonialism, oppression, racism and imperialist tendencies. The Sharon regime and the brutality it has demonstrated is conclusive testament that the Israeli government is the true terrorist in this instance.
